It all started on a windy dark cold day,
I'm not sure in truth if it actually was a dark cold day in that moment but I remember the period had been of hard rain and howling wind. We were in lockdown. I was in a mood for
introspection, quietness and listening to nature, something I love to do. I felt the need to find a hypnotic melody almost like a mantra. Something ancestral from my gut. Sitting in my studio looking out of the window I started chanting something just with a beat under it. No lyrics, no chords on the piano, nothing, just voice and drum beat. I recorded it on my phone and then from there started developing all the rest with Sara Jane. I could not have started anything without her. She put the beat on her computer and we started searching for chords together. I found lyrics and sang a first take and did all the backing vocals in her room with my old Shure 58 mic. She put all the cool electronic sounds and at the same time I asked Matteo to find a bass line. I sang the violin part for Alex and Luca did his own thing. I sang the lead vocals once more in our recording studio this time and then sent everything to Stefano in Canada where he recorded piano and synth and did all the mixing.
It's been a long procedure with moments of doubt and files going back and forth for a while but now I feel very blessed to have had this opportunity of expression.
It's been a teem work and I'm very grateful to all that pitched in.
I want to thank Nat Zummo for co producing with me and for believing blindfoldedly in my art, and last but not least I want to thank Mario Perella for the video post production and his endless patience, Andrea Evangelista- camera man, and my close friend Mariana Andrei for letting us shoot in her beautiful garden.
